Peter grew up in Pennsylvania and Utah listening to Paul Simon, the Beatles, Pete Townshend, Cat Stevens, David Byrne, Nanci Griffith, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Don Mclean, Bob Dylan, U2, John Denver, R.E.M., Dan Fogelberg, The Police, Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, English Beat, David Stefunik, Brian Wilson, Simon & Garfunkel, The Who, Jon Schmidt, The Origin, George Winston, Ennio Morricone, John Sebastian, Shawn Colvin, and Talking Heads. He is self-taught on the guitar and piano, and started writing songs when he was 11.
